Entreprequeers is a podcast hosted by Anna & Kaylene, two friends with a unique perspective on what it means to be an entrepreneur in the midst of end-stage capitalism.

As freelancers, we’ve tried to soak up much of the business information geared towards today’s entrepreneur. However, we often found ourselves frustrated with the fact that so much of what’s out there seems to be targeted to the same types of people: business bros or girl boss mompreneurs.

What about the queer weirdo? What about the person who doesn’t have a family safety net to fall back on, or a network of other business bros to give them a leg up? The historical and social impact of being queer makes doing queer business much different.

On Entreprequeers, we talk about the nuances, horrors, magic, and moments of glee that come from being queer business owners, and our mission to gay up the business world so we can all get the bag we deserve.

Anna is on a journey to live in her own reality, which may or may not include other humans, aliens, and animals. Anna’s favorite activities are ecstatic dancing in public (much to everyone’s dismay) and reading. Anna has been a full time freelance videographer for 5 years and has learned a lot the hard way in this ever-shifting gig economy. Her work is focused on working with small business owners and artists. She is currently working on a feature-length dance documentary that captures stories from around the globe, expressing how daily ecstatic dance has changed the lives of people who practice it.

Kaylene is a self-proclaimed swamp witch who enjoys sad music, tarot, glitter, and a strong summer concept. Kaylene considers herself a recovering theatre professional, with a career in the non-profit arts sector spanning over a decade. Although she had plenty of her own side hustles and business ventures along the way, she transitioned to a full time freelance career in 2020. She is currently one half of the candle & perfume speakeasy known as Candles Unincorporated, and can also be found herding cats (or, more accurately, planning parties) as an events coordinator in the New Orleans area.
